
Job Title: Operations Professional
Reports to: CEO
Status: Part-Time, Hourly
Job Summary
With SARSEF, every Arizona student can be a scientist or engineer solving problems big and small. SARSEF uses a comprehensive programming model that supports students, teachers, and families so that students can think critically and solve problems through science and engineering. We couldn’t be successful without impactful programs throughout the state.
As SARSEF’s Part-Time Operations Professional, you will work with the CEO to enhance the internal processes and infrastructure that allows SARSEF to continue to grow and fulfill its mission.
We are looking for applicants with strong organizational and communication skills to take ownership of and initiative in their work. The ability to collaborate with others is a must. Experience in human resources and/or office management and administration is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
People and Culture
- Assist CEO in hiring and onboarding process
- Collaborate with the CEO in developing and maintaining an equitable process for annual performance reviews.
- Collect time reporting and approvals from employees
- Collaborate with Director of Finance on Payroll
- Implement and maintain norms and systems around office culture
- Stay appraised of current labor laws and trends and propose updates to Employee Handbook as needed
Operations
- Serve as lead liaison with IT company and Insurance brokers
- Obtain and review business and employee insurance renewals
- Provide information needed for insurance renewals/audits
- Supply certificates of insurance as needed
- With the Director of Finance, plan and establish the general policies for each business and administrative function
- Maintain lawful storage of employee and financial files
- Maintain office supplies and take lead ordering
- Serve as first point of contact for general phone and email lines
- Process mail according to financial best practices
- Maintain daily bookkeeping and invoicing responsibilities in Quickbooks Online
- Maintain monthly audit requirements (time percentage splits, receipt matching)
- Oversee vendor payments and serve as main point of contact for deposits
- Assist CEO with calendaring
Other Duties
- Support other SARSEF events and programs when all staff are needed to provide quality opportunities
Basic Requirements
- Must pass a Pima County fingerprint clearance
- Must work from the SARSEF Office
Compensation
The starting hourly rate of this position is $20-$25 DOE with potential for higher through tenure and performance. This is a year-round position expected to average 30-40 hours per week with benefits.
