Maricela Rivera

Distribution Engineer II, Trico Electric Cooperative

Maricela Rivera is a dedicated engineer with a passion for sustainability and innovation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering from the University of Arizona. Currently, a Distribution Engineer II at Trico Electric Cooperative, she oversees the Construction Work Plan and Project Manages large construction projects. Maricela’s expertise extends to renewable resources and energy efficiency, as she streamlined processes, developed Trico’s online Distributed Generation Interconnection Application, and played a pivotal role in setting renewable energy tariffs.

Her commitment to sustainability and community engagement is highlighted by her work in college as an Energy Intern for the City of Tucson Energy Office, where she initiated rate changes and researched community solar options. As an emcee and organizer of The Young Latina Forum, Maricela empowered young women to consider a career in STEM. Maricela combines her engineering prowess with a genuine dedication to advancing renewable energy solutions for a sustainable future.
