Dany Castro

PRISM Specialist

Dany is a physicist and PRISM Specialist at SARSEF. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Sonora and later completed his PhD at the University of Arizona, where his research focused on the orbital motion of Near-Earth Asteroids. Alongside his research, he has taught undergraduate physics courses and has more than ten years of experience coaching high school students for Physics Olympiads.

He has been actively involved with SARSEF through programs such as STAR Lab, where he has served as both a mentor and coordinator, guiding students in the development of research projects. Dany has also served as a judge in multiple editions of the SARSEF Science Fair and the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, and participated as a PRISM Specialist during the program’s first edition.

Dany believes in fostering curiosity and scientific thinking at an early age by connecting students with researchers and engaging them in critical problem-solving and authentic research experiences.
