For over 70 years, SARSEF has connected Arizona students to hands-on STEM education, mentorship, and real-world discovery. Our STEM education and outreach programs include: the SARSEF Regional Science & Engineering Fair, Arizona STEM Adventure, Racing the Sun, ACES Camp, PRISM, GALS Arizona, and outreach with schools and the community. These programs reach thousands of students in Southern Arizona and across the state each year.

SARSEF Regional Science & Engineering Fair
February 28 – March 7, 2027
The culminating science fair for Southern Arizona. Thousands of students
compete for over $100K in scholarships and prizes. Top high school winners
advance to ISEF, the world’s largest pre-collegiate science competition.
Sponsors are recognized by students, parents, educators, and hundreds of
professional judges.
Arizona STEM Adventure
November 20, 2026
A hands-on, interactive STEM exploration day connecting 4th- 8th grade students with real-world science and engineering, while teachers receive professional development. Built on SARSEF’s partnership with Pima Community College, 2,000 students are impacted annually. Sponsor highlights include exhibitor booth, event banners, social media recognition, and more.
Racing the Sun
2026-2027 School year / Race Day: April 23rd, 2027
Student teams design and race solar-powered go-karts with support from community mentors. Race Day is a high-energy public event. A College & Career Day Tour is available for sponsor hosting. Sponsors are recognized by students, parents, educators, volunteers, and schools across the state.
