2021 AZ STEM Adventure
November 17-19, 2021
The 2021 AZ STEM Adventure is a hybrid event. Teachers can choose between two PD sessions offered virtually after school. Then, on Friday, November 19th from 9a-12p, the STEM Adventure virtual field trip will be broadcast via Zoom. Teachers and students will participate in hands-on activities together live with the presenting scientists and engineers guiding them though each step. Students will also get an inside look at different institutes of higher learning in Southern Arizona. All materials for the activities will be provided, delivered to the schools by November 18th.
Each classroom will be assigned a STEM Adventure Classroom Liaison. Where possible, these liaisons will visit the classrooms in person on the 19th and be present with the teachers and students, guiding them through the live activities while they are being presented via Zoom. If in-person visits are not permitted in schools in November, the classroom liaisons will still be available virtually during the live session to answer any questions from their assigned class.
Arizona STEM Adventure
Every fall, 1,000 4th through 8th grade students from across Arizona adventure through a one-day glimpse into the world of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through this collaborative event brought to you by Pima Community College, IBM, Raytheon, The STEMAZing Project, the University of Arizona, and SARSEF. STEM professionals from throughout the community share their world to motivate students to complete a science or engineering project of their own.
Professional Development provides 50 teachers with best practices in guiding their students through the process of answering questions through science and engineering and $100 in materials.
