Judges
Grand awards judges
Judge for SARSEF and make students proud of their science!
If you want to help us select the best projects in a specific category while encouraging the rest, please sign up to be a “grand award” judge. You will use our criteria to select projects in your favorite grade level (Grades PreK-12) which is modeled after criteria used at the international science fair.
Judges at the Elementary school level should have a high school education, and High School Juniors and Seniors with Science Fair experience may also apply. Middle School judges must have a high school education and some relevant experience or advanced education in the field. Judges at the high school level should be professionals or hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in the field. Current junior and senior undergraduates may also be considered.
Please sign up below or contact judging@sarsef.org with any questions about how to become a judge at our next science and engineering competition.
Judges say,
“Seeing students excited for research when career researchers are experiencing a silencing is: heart-warming, comforting, and made it a little easier to fight for science the next day.”
“I realize that my role as a judge goes beyond simply evaluating a project. I’m also playing a part in nurturing a young person’s passion for science and inspiring them to pursue a career that can make a difference.”
“I actually heard about SARSEF from a friend who judged last year; He couldn’t stop talking about how organized it was and how inspiring the students were, so I signed up right away.”
