Welcome, volunteers!

SCROLL DOWN TO SELECT YOUR SHIFT

The Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Fair is successful because of our volunteers. The kids need you!

This event is fun, and it is rewarding to see students (kindergärtners through high schoolers) become excited about science, technology, engineering, and math.

There are many ways that you can volunteer. You do not have to be a scientist to help at the science fair!

Assignments are scheduled in shifts, and we are grateful that many of our volunteers sign up for multiple days, and/or multiple shifts within a day!

Exhibit Hall Assistant: This role is vital in that you may be asked to set up and take down all areas of the Fair, patrol for safety or rule violations, and assist with registration and/or project check-in/check-out.

HUB/Registration: You will have important interactions with students and adults. You may be asked to staff a booth, which will require answering questions or guide students and adults to their appropriate locations. This role may require standing and walking long distances.

MISC – Flexible: This role is the glue that holds it all together. Flexibility is key. Under this role, among other tasks, we’ll need a few people with strong technical (computer) skills and several people able to perform physical tasks (walking, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds.)

Retail Sales Associate: You will be tasked with keeping merchandise stocked and displayed, using the electronic sales system, handling cash and making change as well as maintaining a friendly face. We have some awesome items for sale this year, you will love them!

Judging Support: This role is exactly what it says. Our judges will need supplies and assistance in order to complete their duties. Attention to detail required, as this valuable role needs to be efficient and accurate.

Future Innovators’ Night/VIP Night: You may help with set up and take down of Future Innovators’ and VIP Night, as well as assist the Exhibitors in any way they need. Bringing water, snacks, finding batteries, extensions cords, or anything else to contribute to the success of what promises to be a fun night for our community. Your help may be needed to sell raffle tickets, Emcee the raffle or walk with our Star Wars envoy!

Award Ceremony Support: You may be asked to organize awards, guide students across the stage, distribute checks, or pass out programs. You may also be asked to greet our dignitaries, help manage the crowd, or quickly troubleshoot. Please expect to be available after the award ceremony. If corrections are needed, we’ll need your help.

DAILY SCHEDULE

You can come for a few hours, or stay all day.  See below to sign up to help!

We ask that volunteers sign up for a 3-hour shift – and you can sign up for as many as you want!
